杨权年轻时曾替“香港文化社”拍摄有关本地学校的纪录片和教材片，处女作是67年的《红粉金刚》，香港六十年代色情电影导演代表人物，此类代表作是70年的《七擒七纵七色狼》和续集《横冲直撞七色狼》，两片可谓是开了色情片粤语片的先河，《七擒七纵七色狼》里写一个女扒手(狄娜饰)逃入了一处旧楼单位，成为屋内七色狼(周吉、杜平、高鲁泉、郑君锦等)的性幻想对象，电影虽然没有甚么暴露场面，但写出了一群低下小男人的性抑压，虽然咸湿，但仍然守望相助，面对大是大非又绝不妥协，一些色情场面如偷窥和搏懵，电影处理得乐而不淫，不算下流。
