有一次，他两天什么也没有打着，饿得正发慌，这时，看到湖岸上一只大老虎想吃乌龟，老虎用一块石头压住乌龟，打算把爪子伸进壳掏肉。阿罗加用猎枪打死了老虎。虽然阿罗加已经很饿了，可是看到乌龟受伤的样子，却可怜起这只苦命的乌龟，把受伤的乌龟背回了家。通过阿罗加的精心照料，大乌龟痊愈了。可是阿罗加却生病了，而且病的很重，高烧使他已经神志不清了。为了救活阿罗加大乌龟历经千辛万苦，驮着阿罗加来到了布宜诺斯艾利斯，找到了他那个管理员朋友救活了阿罗加。
